Dahmer Series becomes Netflix Second- biggest Show: Here is everything you need to know about the Series.
The Dahmer series is a story about the life of a serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer, who murdered 17 young men and boys between 1978 and 1991, many of whom were gay, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The show is now Netflixs most popular series with 701.37 million hours watched, after the series, ‘Stranger Things’ which has 1.35 billion watch hours. It has also gotten more watch time hours than season one and two of the ‘Bridgerton’ series. Although there are strong reactions especially from families whom their sons were victims, it is still attracting huge ratings.
The show aired on Netflix on September 21st 2022 and has been watched by millions of people all over the world. The Series shows how Jeffrey Dahmer killed his victims and how he did it. The show begins by showing how his neighbor Glenda complains of a foul smell but he responds to her saying that it is just rotten meat.
That night, Dahmer meets a guy named, Tracy Edwards, at a gay bar and invites him to his place. After they get to his place, he handcuffs him and threatens to kill him. Tracy distracts Dahmer by trying to seduce him, which helps him escape and finds the police.He takes them back to Dahmers apartment, where the police find a dead body, a persons head in his refrigerator, blood stains in his mattress and pictures of the men and adolescent boys he had dismembered.
Jeffrey Dahmer used to kill young men and most of them were gay. Most families had been in search of their missing sons and they later found out, that they had been victims of Dahmer, since he kept their IDs and passports after killing them.
Jeffrey Dahmer would also eat some parts of the body after he killed his victim. From the series, one can see Jeffrey Dahmer frying a part of the body and eating it.
The Dahmer series has fascinated alot of people but it has brought a controversy since most of Dahmers victims were black and gay, people can’t help but accentuate the case of Racism and LGBTQ. After Netflix was called out for categorising it as an LGBTQ show, the tag was removed.
It is also very clear from the series that the police were ignorant and did not handle the matter strongly as expected as, Glenda would call them so many times and nothing would happen, thus this why Dahmer was able to continue his killling for a long time.
Despite all controversies, the show is on the top charts of Netflix, and is the number one TV show on Netflix in more than 60 countries.
