Wamuchomba’s scathing speech at Mama Mboga’s son funeral
Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba on Wednesday lashed out at President William Ruto’s administration, dismissing it as deceitful.
She was speaking at Pauline Waithera Njoroge’s homestead during the burial of her son Alex Mbugua in Githunguri.
The deceased, who died at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) at the age of 51, left behind a widow and three school-going sons.
The funeral was attended by Public Service CS Moses Kuria, Kiambu Woman Representative Anne Wamuratha, Wamuchomba and Nyeri County politician Thuo Mathenge.
Governor Kimani Wamatangi sent a representative.
Njoroge, 71, was one of the signatories who endorsed President William Ruto’s nomination as a presidential candidate for the August 9, 2022 General Election.
She was also among those who spoke publicly at the bottom-up model conference held at Jumuia Conference Centre in Kiambu County on May 23, 2022.
Speaking last, CS Kuria said he had “pledged to educate and empower the three sons left behind by the deceased”.
Wamuchomba said Njoroge had been used by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) bigwigs “where they took her out of her business and she ran out of stock as she became the face of Mama Mboga in Ruto’s campaigns”.
She said Njoroge “went through hell with her son’s illness and hospitalisation to the point where he died. They are insulting and fighting me for speaking out against these lies and even if they kill me, the truth will remain”.
She said she gave Njoroge Sh100,000 “and the gesture opened doors of intimidation against me and her… their bloggers even shamelessly claimed they gave her Sh6 million… but we are here and you can all see for yourselves if this homestead is worth those millions”.
“Even the system sent their thugs in the middle of the night to warn her not to speak to the media, making her life look more miserable than it was…now they have brought her Sh900,000 after hearing she was bereaved”.
Wamuratha dismissed Wamuchomba as “someone who has a strange hatred for the government to the extent of going around spreading lies”.
She said: “President Ruto is the one who has paid all the medical bills in this family and he has been very supportive to Mrs Mbugua”.
