Try again another day: Unsuccessful KDF applicants told as recruitment ends
The Ministry of Defence has officially concluded the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) nationwide recruitment drive, with those who were unsuccessful encouraged to try again in the next exercise.
The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces, Lieutenant General J M Mwangi issued a statement yesterday announcing that the exercise, which started on August 28, saw KDF officers deployed at three hundred and seventy-four (374) Recruitment Centres across forty-seven (47) Counties, successfully enlisting qualified Kenyan citizens under various categories, including General Service Officer Cadets, Graduate General Service Officer Cadets, and General Duty Recruits.
Lt Gen Mwangi also expressed gratitude to the enthusiastic youth who demonstrated their patriotism by participating in the recruitment drive, stating, “Your presence was a strong demonstration of your patriotism and desire to serve our great Republic.”
While congratulating those who secured a spot in the KDF, he urged those who were not successful to remain steadfast in their quest for opportunities to serve our country.
Mwangi acknowledged the vital contributions of different security agencies, ethics and anti-corruption bodies, the media, and the public. He emphasized that their roles were pivotal in maintaining the exercise’s integrity.
The report also informed the public about upcoming notifications for shortlisted applicants in the Specialist Officer Cadets and Artisans or Tradesmen and Women categories, which will be disseminated through the official Ministry of Defence Website and mainstream media between September 17 and September 24.
Furthermore, eligible candidates for the Ex-National Youth Service category were instructed to report to Embakasi Garrison, Nairobi County, on September 18, for interviews.
Likewise, candidates aspiring to join the Defence Forces Constables category were advised to report to Kahawa Garrison, Nairobi County, for interviews scheduled on November 27 .
