Top KCPE candidate Fwaro Makokha admitted to Alliance High School
Fwaro Makokha Robinson, top 2022 KCPE candidate was on Monday admitted at Alliance High School.
The former Christ the King Academy pupil, who scored 431 marks in the 2022 class, is being sponsored by Kodris Africa, an Education Technologies firm.
He aspires to become a software engineer after being accepted
Makokha expressed his gratitude towards Kodris Africa for the sponsorship, “I’m thrilled to be here. I’ve heard a lot about Alliance, but now I’m finally here in person. I love the environment and my new uniform gives me the motivation to chase my dream of becoming a software engineer. I want to thank Kodris Africa for their support in helping me pursue this dream. I know I will succeed.”
Kodris Africa’s content was approved by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development for coding education in Kenyan schools last year. President William Ruto pledged on December 11, ahead of ICT-themed Jamhuri Day, to introduce coding as part of the school curriculum.
Alliance had 209 students studying Computer Science in the group that sat for their KCSE in 2022.
Kodris Africa will cover all of Makokha’s school fees, provide a laptop, coding resources, and other tools. CEO Mugumo Munene stated, “We saw on the news that Fwaro aspired to become a software engineer. Coding is the skill he needs to achieve that dream, and we want to give him a solid foundation towards it. Coding is one of the most in-demand skills globally, and Fwaro is leading the way.”
