Redefining Fashion and Rewarding Loyalty: Ikojn Launches The Ikojnic Club

Cris Njoki, the trailblazing founder and CEO of Ikojn, took center stage at the exclusive launch event of the Ikojnic club, held at the renowned Nairobi Social House. The evening witnessed the unveiling of Ikojn’s highly anticipated loyalty program, as well as an inspiring discussion about the brand’s journey and its commitment to sustainable fashion.

During a candid conversation with Paul Odhiambo from NTV, Cris Njoki provided insights into the remarkable progress Ikojn has made since their last encounter at the Fashion High Tea. “It has been a great journey, filled with both highs and lows as is common in business, but overall, it has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” she shared.

Njoki recounted the origins of Ikojn as her personal brainchild. Having attended the Mcensal School of Fashion, where she proudly claimed the title of the institution’s first student, she set out to create a brand that would not only deliver exceptional fashion but also leave a lasting impact on society. “Ikojn is now eight years old, and I am elated that we have been able to change lives and make a meaningful difference through our brand,” Njoki remarked with a smile.

Initially conceived as an e-commerce venture, Ikojn soon realized the importance of in-person experiences and customer interaction. Responding to the demands of their loyal clientele, Ikojn embarked on an expansion spree, establishing multiple physical stores. “Our customers wanted to touch, feel, and try on our products. They craved that personal connection, and that’s why we opened our first, second, third, and now our fourth store. We owe our success to our incredible customer base,” Njoki explained passionately.

Amid the launch’s excitement, Njoki proudly introduced Ikojn’s innovative loyalty program. This program aims to express gratitude to their loyal customers by offering them points for every purchase made, which can be redeemed for rewards. “The loyalty program is our way of saying a big thank you to our customers. We want to recognize their unwavering support and make their Ikojn experience even more rewarding,” Njoki announced with enthusiasm.

Sustainability lies at the core of Ikojn’s values, with the brand leading the charge as the number one zero-waste fashion label in Kenya. Collaborating with the organization Waste to Wear, Ikojn repurposes its waste products to create recycled goods, furthering the cause of environmental consciousness. Njoki emphasized the brand’s commitment to the well-being of their all-female staff, ensuring fair wages, reasonable working hours, and comprehensive healthcare benefits.

However, Ikojn has faced challenges in sourcing locally made fabrics, hindering their desire to support 100% made-in-Kenya materials. Njoki expressed her hope for increased government investment in local fabric manufacturing, which would bolster the growth of homegrown brands and establish a robust supply chain.

Furthermore, Ikojn has embraced strategic collaborations, including a partnership with NCBA. Njoki emphasized that such partnerships and collaborations are central to Ikojn’s growth strategy, with many more exciting ventures on the horizon.

With the launch of the loyalty program, Ikojn has set an example for other fashion brands in the country to reward their customers and continue making strides towards sustainable fashion.
