Raila hits out at Wetangula, Kingi over leadership changes in parliament
“Senate speaker is not allowing Senate to function the way we know it,” Raila Odinga alleges.
The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition leader was speaking outside parliament building hours after he walked in to push for changes in the Azimio Coalition.
RAila hit out at both the National Assembly and Senate speakers terming them as ‘stubborn’.
“As Azimio, we decided because of reasons that we gave, to change our leadership both in the Senate and the National Assembly. This has not been respected up to date because the speaker is stubborn and he says he is respecting a ruling by the tribunal,” Raila addressed members of the fourth estate.
Raila referenced former National Assembly speaker Francis Ole Kaparo’s ruling where he said Parliament cannot be inducted on performance duties.
The former prime minister was keen to note the deadline he stipulated for the Kenya Jwanza government to take action on his demands, adding that he will issue the way forward on Thursday.
