Police nab bhang in Nairobi’s Huruma estate, seven suspected peddlers arrested
Police officers have netted over 10 kilograms of bhang from a residence in Huruma, Nairobi and arrested eight suspected peddlers.
The bhang was nabbed during a weekend raid that was conducted following a tip-off from members of the public.
According to a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, at least 450 rolls of bhang, weighing scales, daggers and gas cylinders suspected to have been stolen were also recovered during the midnight raid on Saturday.

“A vehicle used to distribute the highly addictive drug in various parts of the city was also impounded,” the DCI said.
“The seven suspects identified as Alex Murimi, Woche Sipa, Clinton Odinga, Kevin Kimani, Mohamed Wako, John Chege and Hassan Yussuf are facing charges of trafficking in narcotic drugs, being in possession of narcotic drugs and preparation to commit a felony.”
The raid comes barely seven days after cops in Nyahururu town nabbed bhang worth KES150,000 and arrested a woman suspected to be the peddler.
According to the police report, the bhang was being stored and sold from a private home and was nabbed during a raid.
Nyahururu Deputy County Commissioner Muthike Ndambuki said the police got a tip from members of the public and acted swiftly.
Also nabbed during the raid were special papers used for the rolling and packaging the illegal drug.
The DCC warned the peddlers that the administrators will intensify the fight against drugs and illicit brews.
