Madaraka Express afternoon train to make stopover at Voi Station starting February 1
Kenya Railways has announced that the 3 pm Madaraka Express Passenger Service train will now make a stopover at Voi station, effective February 1, 2023.
“Passengers from Mombasa and Nairobi Termini can board and alight the train at Voi station,” said the company in a statement.
According to the statement, the Mombasa to Nairobi afternoon Express train will arrive at Voi station at 4:38 pm and depart at 4:43 pm, while the Nairobi to Mombasa afternoon Express train will arrive at 6:48 pm and depart at 6:53 pm.
The Mombasa to Nairobi train will complete its journey at 8:18 pm, with the Nairobi to Mombasa train completing its journey at 8:30 pm.
“We also take this opportunity to remind customers that one must arrive at least one hour before departure in order to have a smooth check-in and boarding experience,” added the statement.
The addition of a stopover at Voi station will be a welcome change for passengers who have been requesting additional stopovers between Mombasa and Nairobi.
It will also provide an opportunity for tourists and travelers to explore the beautiful town of Voi, located in the heart of the Tsavo National Park.
However, the company made no comments regarding whether the change would have an impact on fare prices.
