Affordable Housing platform, Boma Yangu, moves services to e-Citizen
Affordable Housing platform, Boma Yangu, is the latest government service to migrate to e-Citizen.
The Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development announced on Friday that its Boma Yangu service will be temporarily disrupted during the migration.
“The new and improved system is designed to offer enhanced performance and reliability as well as a better user experience for all. The optimized platform will include a range of new and exciting features and additional services that will make it easier for you to access information and interact with the Affordable Housing Program,” the statement from the ministry reads in part.
Boma Yangu is an initiative by the Kenyan government that offers affordable housing services to low and middle-income households.
The migration exercise will start today, Friday at 6 pm and end on Monday, March 20 at 6 am.
During this period, Boma Yangu services will be unavailable and inaccessible.
Some of the features of the new platform include convenient access to the web portal through eCitizen, access to USSD for people with feature phones or with no internet, updated projects showing the latest Affordable Housing projects and quick processes to make savings/payments on the platform.
Other features include improved visibility of transactions on the portal with real-time statements for all platform users, better settlement of funds reducing reconciliation challenges, and an organized groups module serving bulk off-takers on the platform.
