Late Prof. George Magoha to be buried at his home in Yala on February 11
Former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha will be laid to rest at his home in Umiru Nyamninia, Yala, on February 11, 2023, his family has announced.
In a press release, Julius Jwan, the Family and Funeral Planning Committee Spokesperson said the funeral mass will take place on February 11 at Odera Akang’o University campus in Yala.
In the lead-up to the interment, a series of solemn funeral events have been planned to celebrate the life of the late Magoha.
On February 8, a farewell caravan will proceed from Lee Funeral Home, passing through significant places in Magoha’s life including the College of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Offices.
On February 9, a requiem mass will be held at the Consolata Shrine, Westlands, and on February 10, a procession and holy mass will take place at Township Primary School and St Mary’s Secondary School in Yala.
The family thanked the media for their thorough and sympathetic coverage as well as the outpouring of love and support from Kenyans from all walks of life.
Julius said that another press briefing will be lined up for Tuesday at the family residence in Nairobi to provide further details.
