KPC advertises MD job days after court suspended Sang’s appointment
In the aftermath of the recent Employment and Labour Relations Court ruling, the Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has advertised the Managing Director position, days after the court suspended the appointment of Joe Kimutai Sang as the acting Managing Director.
The court had suspended the appointment in response to a petition from the Law Society of Kenya questioning Sang’s suitability for the job.
As per the court’s decision, the board had been allowed to appoint an acting Managing Director from amongst the current employees holding substantive management positions.
In the advertisement on local dailies, the Managing Director will be responsible for implementing the Company’s statutory mandates and strategic goals, overseeing the financial operations of the Company, maintaining positive external relationships and partnerships, managing the top leadership and staff of the Company, advising the Board of Directors, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate must possess a Master’s Degree and a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution, have over 15 years of relevant experience, including 10 years in senior management, and be a registered member of a relevant professional body.
Other key skills and competencies include knowledge of corporate governance, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, broad knowledge of the Oil and Gas Industry, and commercial drive and business acumen.

The deadline for all applications is February 27, 2023.
Candidates will be required to present various clearance certificates such as a Certificate of Good Conduct, Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board, Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority, and a Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-corruption Authority.
