Kenyans Sara Ruto, Snehar Shah named among top 10 finalists for Africa Education Medal
Two Kenyans, Sara Ruto and Snehar Shah have been named among the top 10 finalists for the Africa Education Medal 2023.
Former Chief Administrative Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Kenya, Sara Ruto, and CEO of Moringa School, Snehar Shah, have been announced as two of the Top 10 finalists for the prestigious award which recognizes individuals who have made remarkable contributions and shown exemplary leadership and advocacy in the field of education.
Sara Ruto’s significant work in education reform in Kenya led to her receiving the esteemed ‘Elder of the Burning Spear’ (EBS) Presidential Award in 2019.
Meanwhile, Snehar Shah, the CEO of Moringa School in Kenya, has been instrumental in bridging the skills gap in Africa’s job markets.
T4 Education Founder and CEO, Vikas Pota, congratulated the two on their nomination, saying, “Africa’s teachers and school leaders, and its leaders of governments, NGOs and businesses, all play a crucial part in unlocking the continent’s potential through quality education. I congratulate Sara Ruto and Snehar Shah on their achievements and I hope their success serves as a rallying cry for changemakers to come forward and make a difference.”
