Youth, Arts and Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has signed yet another deal aimed at developing the film industry in Kenya.
The new deal between Kenya and Invention Studios CEO Nicky Weinstock, will allow film makers from Hollywood to lead the way in realising the Talanta Hela agenda.
“A day after our historic agreement with the NBA in New York to grow basketball, pleased to ink a groundbreaking deal in Los Angeles with Invention Studios CEO Nicky Weinstock for the Hollywood film maker to lead the way in our #TalantaHela #BETA agenda to power Kenya’s film industry,” he announced on his X account.
Kenya on Friday signed an MoU with the NBA aimed at delivering basketball development programs in the country.
This will include training of teachers as certified basketball coaches and scouts at the grassroots level.
Secondly, the Sports ministry and the NBA seek to develop basketball courts in schools, communities and neighbourhoods as well as an arena to host competitions.
In addition to that, the NBA will also open an office in Nairobi on November 2023.
