Kabarak University’s nursing student found dead with stab wounds
Detectives from Rongai sub-county in Nakuru County are investigating the mysterious death of a third-year nursing student at Kabarak University who was found dead on Friday, January 29, by the roadside.
According to Rongai sub-county Directorate of Criminal Investigation Donnata Otieno, the deceased’s colleagues stumbled upon the lifeless body of the 23-year-old student near Kampi ya Moto Primary School off the Nakuru-Mogotio road.
His fellow students who were heading to school in the morning were attracted by a huge crowd that had milled around the crime scene.
They identified the deceased as one of their own and rushed to inform the administration. The matter was later reported at the Rongai Police Station.
Upon arrival, a preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the student whose identity has not been revealed had stabbed wounds on the stomach.
According to Ms Otieno, the deceased was attacked at midnight and his body was discovered in the morning.
She said that they have launched investigations to establish the motive behind the killings, where he was coming from at night and in whose company.
“The body had a severe stab wound. We have launched an investigation into the matter to establish the motive behind the killing. We will get to the bottom of the matter. We appeal to the members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators for the family to get justice,” she said
A student who spoke on condition of anonymity said that she was heading to school for her morning classes when she was attracted by screams from fellow students.
Upon she noted that a body was lying by the roadside. She was later informed that the deceased was also a student at the institution.
His belongings were reported missing from the scene.
“We are saddened to lose one of us mysteriously. This is the second time we have lost a student. We just plead with the police to enhance security by patrolling the area. I am also urging fellow students to be cautious we do not know do not know who will be next,’ she said
The body of the deceased was transferred to the Nakuru Municipal Annex Mortuary, where a postmortem will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
This comes two weeks after the lifeless body of Labaan Kiptoo Langat, a 26-years-old Medical Officer was found in the trenches outside the Margaret Kenyatta Mother and Baby Wing by the security team at the facility.
