High Court advocate grilled over forgery of EACC stamp, signature
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has arrested and is questioning High Court Advocate Jack Bigambo over an allegation he forged the Commission’s official stamp and signature.
Bigambo is accused of using the forged stamp on his court documents and using the same to fraudulently secure Court Orders against EACC.
The suspect, who practices at Bigambo & Bigambo Advocates in Westlands, is currently in custody at EACC Integrity Centre Police Station.
Bigambo is facing various charges including four counts of forgery according to a charge sheet seen by NTV digital.
He is accused of falsifying a stamp belonging to Grace Wambui Maim Advocate and Commissioner of Oaths on a supporting Affidavit on February 10, 2022.
The Commission further alleges that Bigambo on the same day forged a signature on the supporting affidavit in the name of Grace Wambui Maina an Advocate and Commissioner of Oaths purporting it to be a genuine signature of Grace Wambui Maina an advocate and Commissioner of Oaths.
According to the charge sheet, Bigambo & Bigambo Advocate Office while seeking a court order for the release of a vehicle Reg. NO KCB 717H in the High Court in which one Benson Mwangangi Njeru was the applicant and the Republic the Respondent, the office knowingly gave false testimony touching on the matter.
The charge sheet reads in part, “…in a supporting affidavit allegedly sworn before Grace Wambui Maina, a Commissioner of Oaths, in the Republic of Kenya and filed in the said Supporting affidavit, knowingly gave false testimony touching on a matter which was material to a question then pending in that proceeding, by embossing a forged stamp impression in the name of Grace Wambui Maina Advocate and Commissioner for Oaths.”
Bigambo is expected to be presented before Milimani Anti-Corruption Court.
