“He ran a beautiful race,” Kipyegon heaps praise on Kipchoge
Double Olympic Marathon Champion Faith Kipyegon was among the runners who congratulated Eliud Kipchoge’s win, describing it as a beautiful race.
” It was a beautiful race, I congratulate him for a job well done,” a joyful Kipyegon stated.
Locals followed the Berlin Marathon residents on a large screen courtesy of NTV and cheered their way through the Eldoret streets when Eliud Kipchoge topped the race.
President William Ruto also congratulated the athletic champion.
“The fifth masterful and historic performance in Berlin. Congratulations, our limitless star, Eliud Kipchoge, for your golden staging in the BMW,” Ruto said.
The reigning world record holder, Eliud Kipchoge, won the Berlin Marathon for the fifth time, in 2:02:42.
Though he fell short of breaking his own world record, he does surpass Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie for the most victories in Berlin.
“Once again, Eliud Kipchoge asserts his command and dominance, showcasing his exceptional skill and defending his title by securing victory in the Berlin Marathon for an unparalleled 5th time. Bravo! No Human Is Limited,” ODM leader Raila Odinga said while congratulating ‘King-Choge’.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was also not left behind in congratulating the star of the day.
“The marathon king has done it again. Congratulations, Eliud Kipchoge, for winning the Berlin Marathon for the fifth time. Your win in this year’s edition cements your special status in the world of marathon running,” Gachagua said.
