Golden opportunity? Swahili teacher needed at Swiss school charging KES 16 million in fees
Institut Le Rosey, one of the world’s most prestigious and expensive schools, is looking for a part-time Swahili teacher.
In a job advert shared on it’s website, the successful candidate will be in charge of teaching students in their mother tongue in private classes or small groups.
Candidates must have a degree, preferably in Swahili language, literature, or philology, as well as a recognized teaching qualification to be considered for the position.
Furthermore, the school is looking for someone with teaching experience, particularly those who have taught the International Baccalaureate (IB). Candidates must also be in possession of a valid Swiss work permit. A good working knowledge of English and/or French is also desirable.
Institut Le Rosey is known for its two beautiful campuses in Switzerland, one in the Château du Rosey estate in Rolle and the other in the ski resort of Gstaad.
The curriculum at the school is rich and diverse, including bilingual education, international baccalaureate, American high school diploma, and a variety of extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, music, and social service.
The student-to-teacher ratio is 5:1, and the faculty is highly qualified, including former Olympians, Harvard graduates, and published authors.
Institut Le Rosey is one of the world’s most expensive schools, with yearly fees starting at $132,000 (KES 16.7 million), a campus that resembles a luxury resort, and a 38-foot yacht.
Institut Le Rosey has a long and illustrious history of educating royalty, aristocracy, celebrities, and world leaders. King Albert II of Belgium, Prince Rainier III of Monaco, Aga Khan IV, Julian Casablancas, John Kerry, and others are among its notable alumni. The school’s facilities include an equestrian center, a sailing center, a golf course, an arts center, and a wellness center.
