Former LSK President Havi among 8 shortlisted for Solicitor General
Former Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has been shortlisted among eight other candidates seeking to be the next Solicitor General.
The list published by the Public Service Commission lists the interviews for the eight between Tuesday and Wednesday, December 13 and 14 respectively at the Commission House, Nairobi.
The eight are Markaren Kigen Sorobit, Shadrack John Mose, Beatrice Adhiambo Akuno, Nelson Havi,Paul Lilan, Beatrice Mugeni Meso, Stephen Ochieng Mallowah and George Kithi.
PSC is asking the public to share any information of interest relating any of the shortlisted candidates by December 8. The information is to be shared through affidavits addressed to the CEO or sent through the email hodrands@publicservice.go.ke.
Kennedy Ogeto who was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in March 2018 for a five-year term currently holds the position.
Ogeto took over from Njee Muturi, who was then promoted to State House Deputy Chief of Staff as a result of the changes.
The solicitor general is appointed for a five-year term, with the option to renew for another term.
Thus, Ogeto’s term will end in March 2023.
The Solicitor General serves as the accounting officer for the State Law Office and the Department of Justice, both of which are currently led by Attorney General Justin Muturi.
