Felix Koskei appointed Head of Public Service and Chief of Staff
President William Ruto has appointed former Agriculture CS Felix Koskei as the Head of Public Service and the President’s Chief of Staff.
In a statement by the exiting Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua, Koskei will be deputized by Joosphat Nanok who was serving as the Director-General of Ruto’s presidential campaigns.
Former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita resigned early this year to focus on the Machakos Governorship. He lost to Wavinya Ndeti.
Meanwhile, Former Kajiado South MP Katoo Ole Metito is the new State House Comptroller, replacing former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
As President Chief of Staff, Koskei will be tasked with working behind the scenes to solve problems, mediate disputes, and deal with issues before they are brought to the President.
At the Executive Office of the President, he is responsible for managing operations, coordinating policies, and supervising staff. On behalf of the President, he talks with ministries, state departments, and agencies regarding the daily operations of the government.
He is in charge of organizing and carrying out the office’s projects and programs.
Koskei left the cabinet under a cloud of suspicion after a list tabled in Parliament named him among other five cabinet secretaries as corrupt public servants.
Three years later, 2018, he was appointed to serve in the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
