Fafi MP Salah Yakub accuses Raila of seeking a coalition government
Fafi Member of Parliament Salah Yakub has dismissed the planned countrywide mass protests by Azimio leader Raila Odinga as futile and irrelevant.
Speaking at Warable trading centre where he launched the registration and issuance of birth certificates to the locals, Yakub said that President William Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza government will not be distracted by Raila’s antics.
“Raila can continue to hold many protests but that will not stop Kenyans from continuing with their daily routine business,” said Yakub.
The UDA MP also ruled out any possibility of Raila joining the Ruto administration in a coalition deal, saying that it would be suicidal for the Azimio leader to be part of a nusu mkate (half-bread) ideology.
He accused Raila of being a destabilizing factor in previous governments where he shared power with former presidents Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
“President Ruto will not invite him into his administration and mess up again as witnessed in the previous administrations,” said Yakub.
Raila has declared that he will lead countrywide mass protests on Monday to pressure Ruto’s government to address the high cost of living, engender electoral reforms, and abandon what he calls ‘dictatorial tactics’.
He has accused Ruto of mismanaging the economy, violating human rights, and undermining democracy.
