Body of 42-year-old man found undressed and mutilated in Mwea East sub-county
Residents of Icangi village in Mwea East sub-county woke up to a bizarre incident after the body of a 42-year-old man was found undressed and dumped into a banana plantation.
The man who was later identified as Hesbon Munene was found a few meters from his clothes in a scene that indicated that there was a fight before he was killed.
His brother, Francis Muriithi, said that the deceased has been living with a mental disorder after he had an accident sometimes back, adding that they do not understand the motive of his murder.
Muriithi said that his brother’s body and clothes were found by people who were going to farm at the Banana plantation after which they alerted the police.
According to the mother, Nancy Wangithi, the deceased had a liking for sugarcane which she suspected got him killed since a neighbour had approached her warning of dire consequences should her son continue harvesting the sugar cane.
Police conducted the preliminary investigation at the scene of crime and the body moved to Kerugoya hospital mortuary pending post mortem.
