BBC anchors dress in black amid concerns of Queen Elizabeth’s health
Buckingham palace confirmed this afternoon, September 8, that the Queen’s doctors were concerned about her health.
“Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral,” the palace added.
Following this news, a couple of observable changes have taken place leading many to question whether the ‘London Bridge Has Fallen’, which is the intricate plan of what is to happen when the Queen dies.
First, the BBC website has turned black while the anchors on BBC news are dressed in black.
Here is what follows once the Queen dies according to reports recovered by The Guardian.
- King Charles’ coronation will happen months (even up to a year) after the Queen dies, but he’ll be a King the second she passes.
- Sir Christopher Geidt, the Queen’s private secretary, will contact the Prime Minister, Liz Truss, on a secure line and inform her “London Bridge is down”
- From the Foreign Office’s Global Response Centre, the news will go out to the 15 governments outside the UK where the Queen is also the head of state and the 36 other nations of the Commonwealth for whom she has served as a symbolic figurehead.
- The announcement will go out as a newsflash to the Press Association and the rest of the world’s media simultaneously. At the same instant, a footman in mourning clothes will emerge from a door at Buckingham Palace, cross the dull pink gravel, and pin a black-edged notice to the gates. And while he does this, the palace website will be transformed into a somber, single page, showing the same text on a dark background.
- Both houses of parliament will gather within hours of her death and Charles will make his first address to the nation as King.
Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926 and took over the monarchy in 1952 following the death of her father King George VI. She is now 96 years and buried her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, in April 2021.
