14 Uhuru PSs among 477 shortlisted for the job in Ruto’s govt
Fourteen of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Principal Secretaries are among the 477 candidates shortlisted for the PS jobs in President William Ruto’s government.
Public Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday released the names and noted that all the shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in a two-week period beginning October 12.
“The Commission shortlisted 477 applicants out of 9,154 that applied for the positions whose application deadline had been extended from 20th to 27th September 2022,” read the statement signed by Corporate Communications officer Browne Kutswa.
Kirimi Kaberia (Industrialization), Mercy Mwangangi (CAS health), Sarah Ruto (CAS education), Fatuma Hirsi (PS broadcasting), Julius Ouma Jwan (Early Learning), Winnie Guchu (CAS, State Law Office), and Charles Hinga (PS Housing) are some of Uhuru’s PS and CAS on the shortlist.
The list also includes a few politicians, such as former Senator Isaac Mwaura, former Lang’ata MP Nixon Korir, and former Governor Samuel Tunai of Narok.
Others on the shortlist are HELB CEO Charles Ringera, Joash Maangi, and Jonathan Mueke, the first Nairobi county deputy governor serving under Evans Kidero.
PSC said it had received over 9,000 applicants for the recently advertised PS job positions.
It adds, “The Commission will conduct selection interviews at its head office in Nairobi and thereafter forward the list of successful candidates to His Excellency the President for consideration for appointment as Principal Secretaries in accordance with the law.”
