Suspected thug arrested in Nakuru following series of robberies
Police in Nakuru have arrested a suspected thug who is believed to have been behind a string of robberies in the county.
The man, who has not been identified, was apprehended on Sunday by police officers in the Nakuru West Sub County.
According to a statement released by the National Police Service (NPS), the officers received a tip-off from members of the public and followed the suspect to his hideout in the Jasho area.
Upon arresting him, they found him in possession of a weapon, which is thought to have been used in the commission of the crimes.
“The officers responded swiftly and proceeded to Jasho Area within Kaptembwo and successfully managed to pursue and arrest the suspect. Upon searching, he was found in possession of a dagger suspected to have been used in the course of committing crimes,” the NPS statement read.
The police have praised the actions of the members of the public who provided the information that led to the suspect’s arrest.
“We thank members of the public for providing information that led to the arrest of the suspect,” the NPS said.
The suspect is currently being held in custody while the police continue their investigation into the robberies.
