Mombasa Police looking for man who reportedly murdered and set fire on his sons
Police in Mombasa are looking for a man who allegedly strangled his two boys before setting their bodies on fire.
Jason Chacha, 55, allegedly committed the horrible deed following a disagreement with his wife.
According to Mombasa County police commander Stephen Matu, preliminary investigations indicate that the youngsters were most likely strangled before being set on fire.
“We are waiting for the postmortem results, however, there is a possibility the minors were strangled before their bodies were set on fire, once we get the postmortem we will be able to make an informed decision on what killed the minors,” he said.
Detectives, according to Matu, have already initiated a manhunt for the culprit, who has already gone into hiding.
Maria Boke, Chacha’s wife, said she left the house moments before the incident after her husband threatened to murder. They’ve been together for 13 years.
“I left the house and left my two children after my husband had threatened to kill me. I headed to my friend’s house where I spent the night to give him space to cool his tempers. Later in the night, I received a call that my children had died in a fire incident,” she added.
The bodies of the two minors are being preserved at the Coast General Hospital, awaiting postmortem.
