In the last 40 days, 27 people, including three police officers, have been killed by bandits.
The breakdown of the deadly attacks reveals that two girls were killed in Elgeyo Marakwet on January 2, 2023.
On January 13, 2023, eight people were killed in the county of Marsabit. On January 23, three people were shot dead in a Marsabit attack, and on January 27, two people were killed in the county of Samburu.
On February 7, four people were killed and two were injured in Turkana East. And on February 10, three police officers and five civilians were killed in Kainuk in Turkana County.
These are not just statistics; they are human lives lost. This bloodbath has become a perennial issue and should not go unpunished.
Leaders have called on the president to deploy the military to deal with the matter, while others say the government is fighting a losing battle.
