Kidero, Ranguma among Luo leaders to officially join UDA
Several political leaders from Nyanza have joined the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in a bid to promote national unity and put aside tribal differences.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Tuesday.
The leaders, including former governors Evans Kidero, Okoth Obado, and Jack Ranguma, said they were ready to work with the Kenya Kwanza government to deliver development projects to the people of Nyanza.
Malalah emphasized the importance of creating a national party that is focused on issues affecting all Kenyans, rather than just one particular tribe or region. He also stated that the decision to join UDA was made through discussions and consensus, without coercion or intimidation. “We cannot have Kenya A and Kenya B,” said Malalah. “Neither can we have part of the country left behind while fixing the country.”
The move to join UDA is seen as a significant step towards creating a more united Kenya, where leaders can work together to address the country’s challenges. Malalah announced that UDA will be expanding its presence in all regions of Kenya, starting with Kisumu, and will engage with Kenyans to ensure the government delivers its manifesto.
“We have purposed to stick together under the UDA ship and in the hands of our captain, the President,” said Malalah.
The move was welcomed by other UDA leaders, who congratulated the new members for their boldness and patriotism. “We in turn welcome them to join us in the journey of Uniting Kenya, Building Kenya, and Delivering The Plan as promised to the Kenyan people, The Hustlers,” said Malalah.
The decision to join UDA is expected to have a significant impact on the 2023 General Election. With the support of these influential leaders, UDA could become a force to be reckoned with in Nyanza and beyond. It also sends a message that tribal politics can be set aside for the good of the country. As Malalah put it, “unity can be achieved without coercion, manipulation, intimidation, and threats.”
