Pundits had described Raila Odinga’s fifth stab at the presidency in August this year as arguably his best chance of bagging the top job. Odinga was backed by then-outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta amid talk of the so-called system being behind an already powerful juggernaut in the Azimio presidential campaign. So, what went wrong? Was Raila too confident knowing he had the backing of an exiting President? Or was he played? A myriad of questions lingers over what really happened to the Odinga campaign as it now emerges there may have been major systemic failures.
