Family of missing Meru security expert reveal death threats after meeting DCI
Jane Gatwiri, mother to security expert Mwenda Mbijiwe who disappeared over a year ago now says she fears for her life after an unknown man went to her home last Sunday night.
The intruder allegedly pretended to be looking for a job, but Gatwiri feared he wanted to harm her. The distraught mother said the man stared at her for about two minutes and he later asked for fifty shillings for transport.
Upon telling him she didn’t have any money the man walked out of the gate and boarded a bodaboda that was waiting for him outside and drove away.
According to the mother, life after meeting the new Director of Criminal Investigation boss Amin Mohamed has never been the same again as she has been receiving threatening calls and new visitors frequently and she has been forced to look for a refuge to spend the nights.
She said her life and that of her family are in danger and wants the government to provide her with security.
The family is optimistic that the new DCI boss and the government will help her find his son who has been missing for one and a half years now.
She reported the incident to Timau police station where the Sub County Police Commander Joseph Obala said that the Sunday incident is being investigated.
