Twitter to soon add ability to attach long-form text to tweets
Twitter will soon include a feature allowing users to add long-form text to their tweets, company owner and CEO Elon Musk announced on Saturday.
Although Musk did not specify a release date, he promised that the functionality would put an end to the “absurdity of notepad screenshots.”
He continued by saying that the business also intended to work on additional creator monetization tools and improvements to the platform’s search capabilities.
A sign that Twitter was developing a “Articles” feature for posting longer messages was discovered at the start of the year by Jane Manchun Wong, who is renowned for discovering experimental features in apps.
Additionally, Twitter started putting some of the infrastructure required to support its updated Twitter Blue subscription in place on Saturday.
Users of the service will be able to verify their accounts and gain access to a few additional features, such as the capacity to post longer videos and see fewer advertisements, by paying $8 per month.
Musk has also pledged that Twitter will work to support content creators, but he hasn’t yet provided specifics on how the company intends to do that.
Numerous well-known users have left Twitter since his takeover of the business, including Nibellion, the owner of one of the site’s most popular gaming news accounts.
