Ghosts Of 2007: Burden Of Rape
More than 17 years since post-poll violence engulfed Kenya in the aftermath of the 2007 elections, survivors of rape and other sexual violence continue to experience significant physical and psychological trauma and socioeconomic hardship. Women and children, who found themselves caught up in the rage, were attacked and even sexually abused. Until recently, their pain and losses had not been addressed, but the memories continue to haunt them. NTV’s Rose Wangui spoke to women who are raising children born from rape following the disputed presidential elections.

The year 2025 has been one of mixed fortunes for Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro, a man who started the year chairing the powerful Budget & Appropriations Committee of the National Assembly, would fall out of favour with president William Ruto's regime, and consequently not only lost his chairmanship of the committee, but was also removed as a member altogether.
Ndindi, now turned to sharply criticizing President William Ruto's economic policies, often getting into a heated war with staunch defenders of the Kenya Kwanza government.
