'Outdoor gym, jogging track;' a sneak peek into new Uhuru park

The renovated Uhuru and central parks will soon be Nairobi's new chill-out spots. In a tweet, NMS said the green space house several recreational spots including a playground, an outdoor gym, jogging tracks, botanical trails, an outdoor library, and a skating park. "Nairobi's most popular recreational parks, Uhuru & Central Parks have undergone a major facelift to ensure they meet international standards. The green spaces have been exceptionally phenomenal in our nation's evolution as they have hosted historic national events," read part of the tweet. Renovated Uhuru Park Uhuru Park was first opened to the public by the late Mzee Jomo Kenyatta on 23 May, 1969 and is the home of the Mau Mau freedom fighters' monuments. According to the Nairobi Metropolitan Services, "the green spaces environmental pollution management, social- economic development of the nation as well as the physical well-being of citizens".
