Kenya’s passport boasts 9th most-powerful title in Africa
Kenyan passport holders can now boast of holding the ninth most-powerful-passport in Africa.
According to the latest Henley passport Index from immigration consultancy Henley & Partners, Kenya’s passport has also been ranked the 73rd globally.
The 2023 edition of the most widely accepted rating of global travel documents, shows that Kenya’s passport has climbed 3 position from last year’s 76th global title.
This therefore, means that Kenyan citizens are eligible to visit 73 countries without a visa.
Other African countries preceding Kenya include; Seychelles at position 29, Mauritius (34th), South Africa (53rd), Botswana (63rd), Namibia (67th), Lesotho (69th), and eSwatini , formerly Swaziland (71st).
Meanwhile, the worst passports given the number of visa free destinations they allow, include; North Korea (40 destinations), Nepal and Palestinian territories (38 destinations) Somalia (35), Pakistan (32), Syria (30), Iraq (29) and Afghanistan (27).
